Cinnamon scrolls

Cinnamon scrolls (or cinnamon rolls, whichever you call them) are one of those things that fill your entire house with the best possible smell.

The dough takes a while. Yeast, kneading, rising, punching down, rolling out. But once you have got your rectangle of dough the fun part starts. Butter spread across the whole thing. Cinnamon sugar on top. Roll it up tight. Slice into rounds. Arrange in a pan.

These are photographed right before going into the oven. You can see the spiral and the filling. They puffed up nicely and got a basic glaze on top.

I do not bake that often but when I do it is usually something like this. An afternoon project that ends with something warm and sweet.
